Most
everything I ever needed to know about focus
I learned one summer at the pool. I was
about ten when I took my first
diving class. The instructor was a
pretty high school student who told us not to look
down at the water, or we would fall into the pool
without meaning to. I didn't believe
her; I mean who had so little coordination
they would just fall in by looking?
It
wasn't long until I was standing at the edge of
the pool looking into the water one moment, and
the next moment I was looking up out of the
pool. My body followed my focus.
I couldn't explain how it happened - it just
did.
This was a rich lesson that I often
use with my clients, especially when they are
taking big risks. It's their choice where
they place their focus. If the focus is on
all that can go wrong, it's more likely those
scenarios will come to fruition. Instead, we
guide the focus toward opportunities and
intentions, while being aware of obstacles
along the path. So, what's a big
challenge you are currently facing? Do you
have a clear picture of your desired
outcomes? How do you remain aware of the
obstacles in your way while keeping your focus on
the goal?
Enjoy
diving in! Michelle
Technical
Difficulties
Have
you sent me an e-mail recently and haven't heard
from me? I've been experiencing technical
difficulties that have caused many a lost e-mail -
yikes! My terrific assistant Kelly has been
on the case and has gotten it all fixed now, we
believe. If you've sent me something and
haven't heard back, please let me know. And
sorry for the
inconvenience.
